I’m sure that everyone knows where that line came from. Yes, it’s from Frozen and no it’s not from Let It Go. If you’re a Disney fan, you should already know that. If you’re not, well now you know. Me? I’m a Disney fan. I love the princesses and the fairy tales and while I’m not that big on the plot of Frozen, I adore two things about the movie: (1) Elsa (2) the beautiful music.
Talking about the soundtrack of any movie is going to turn out into a long post and that’s completely not the focus of this one. Today, I want to share how this particular line from Frozen spoke to my heart as I was watching the movie. This line kept echoing in my heart long after the movie. (I mean, it’s been more than a year since I watched Frozen, and I’m making a whole blog post about it. That says something, right?) I didn’t have to think too long to figure out why.
I’m a person who likes to spend time alone. I used to think that I was a weird person because of this. It’s not that I don’t have friends, I do. But sometimes I find that the time I spend at home is more enjoyable than the time I spend outside with my friends over lunch, watching a movie or at a party (okay never mind, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed parties very much). So yeah, I had friends and I found it really strange that I sometimes would avoid spending time with them so that I can chill at home. Sometimes, I would think that I was just a terrible, terrible friend and that maybe now everyone just hates me for not hanging out with them anymore.
Over the years, I’ve come to accept myself as I am – a person who loves spending time alone.
What do you think of this post? I’m going to continue to write this series I’ve called “Lyrics that strike a chord” and I hope that you’ve enjoyed it.
Do you, dear reader, have a favourite line from a song? I would love to know.
The featured doodle was drawn by me, could you tell that it was Elsa? Haha!
